This year started on a positive note. There was the whole California Wedding thing. Then came the illness and the time from work that I didn't get paid for, and the worry that I wouldn't get to meet my grandson when he was born. Then there was surgery and soon after the birth of Maxwell. (He is 4 months old now and I have still not held him in my arms.) More tests were taken and another surgery date was made.(first scheduled surgery I've ever had) September dragged by, until September 26th and I was informed(while at work) my brother had been killed during a medical procedure 3 days before his birthday.(If you think I'm crazy, then think about this: He went in alive, they nicked an artery, he died) I am still wrapping my head around this bit of news. We have not had a memorial service yet, October starts and the date for my surgery looms closer, and closer. It looks like Halloween will be spent in the hospital after all.
The surgery went well, and I am now home healing from the two separate procedures Things should start to get back to some kind of normal(I hope) I am looking forward to next year and the chance to see that little boy before he's in college! One strange affect all this has had on my life: my oldest sister and I have spoken more in the last month or so than in the past 14 years.
